Explore this year’s selection of French films at the Reeling: The 41st Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival! The festival is combining in-person screenings at several locations around Chicago, as well as virtual screenings.

With his impending release from a juvenile detention center drawing closer, 17-year-old Joe is both looking forward to leaving and anxious about returning to society. Since a judge has granted him permission to live alone upon release, Joe is concentrating on preparing to rebuild his life. His plans are derailed, however, by the arrival of William, a teenage tattoo artist placed in the neighboring cell.

Reeling: The Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival is the second longest-running film festival of its kind, and prides itself on showcasing the best LGBTQ+ films and videos each year. From award-winning international feature films to social documentaries to experimental shorts, Reeling has always presented a range of genres that demonstrate the rich diversity of work being produced.
