Columbus, Chicago, Madison, Minneapolis

Nov 7-17, 2023

After a two-month Villa Albertine residency in New York and at Ohio State University in Columbus working on his forthcoming novel, Meet French author François Henri Désérable in Columbus, Chicago, Madison and Minneapolis from November 7 to 17 for four public events (in French).

At 34 years old, ten years after publishing his first novel Tu monteras ma tête au peuple, François-Henri Désérable was awarded the “Grand Prix du roman” by the Académie française for “”Mon maître et mon vainqueur” (2021, Gallimard). In may 2023, his latest book titled “L’Usure d’un monde” follows a fourty-days trip in Iran from Téhéran to Baloutchistan, after the death of a 22-year-old student, Mahsa Amini, in 2022.

This autumn, Désérable’s residency with Villa Albertine between New York and Columbus, Ohio, will allow him to devote himself to his next novel, which tells the story of a man with an extraordinary palate. Born in India and raised in Burgundy, he spent his teenage years learning about the world of wine before moving to the United States, where he became the greatest forger of fine wines the world has ever known.

At the end of his residency, he is pleased to meet with audiences in Chicago, Madison and Minneapolis. Come and hear him talk about his work as an author, his career, his projects and his inspirations!
