Development and Special Events Intern

Requirements:
The Development Department seeks a US Student for the role of Development and Special Events Intern. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in event organization or event planning. Some evening availability is required.

Candidates must possess excellent organizational, writing, and communication skills. Candidates should have a solid written and spoken knowledge of the French language and be able to translate documents from French to English. Though fluency is not a requirement, students will have the opportunity to speak French with native speakers. Knowledge of CRM systems is a plus.

The student will work with the team of the Development Department in the execution of Villa Albertine programming across artistic, literary, and cultural disciplines as well as events with external partners.

Responsibilities include:

I. Event Management:

  • Assist in event planning and production including the preparation of invitations, guest lists, and background materials for Embassy leadership and internal staff.
  • Provide on-site event support at Embassy and cultural partner programs.
  • Liaise with external vendors and internal departments.

II. Development:

  • Assist with researching prospective supporters
  • Doing research on foundations and corporations
  • Assist in writing notes or doing presentations for prospects.
  • Assist in speechwriting and English language proofreading.

Student Terms:

Studentships are non-paid positions, although school credit can be arranged.
