Alice Diop comes to Duke University during her brief stateside tour, including stops at Princeton, Yale, Georgetown, and Villa Albertine New York. Diop will discuss her past work and future projects in this conversation with Anne-Gaëlle Saliot, Associate Professor of Romance Studies and Cinematic Arts at Duke University, as part of the Contemporary Feminisms in French Lecture Series.

This will be a hybrid event presented in English. The lecture will be held in person in the Pink Parlor (in East Duke Building), as well as online. Please register here for online access to the talk.

Alice Diop is a Senegalese-French writer and director from the suburbs of Paris. In 2022 she released her first narrative feature film, Saint Omer, based on the true story of a Senegalese woman who stood trial for infanticide in France. Diop has directed several acclaimed documentaries including We, Towards Tenderness, and The Death of Danton. Learn more about her work.
