In Iceland, humans coexist with mythological creatures who remain the subject of certain taboos. The Lutheran Church also influences Icelandic society by imposing its laws. Ignoring the taboos of international opinion, the Icelanders still hunt whales, while their sexual taboos can also be surprising.
