Toulouse Artist TILT Returns to Restore His Mural in Atlanta

102 Broad Street SW
Atlanta, GA, 30303

Saturday, October 5 | 10am

Join us as we celebrate 50 years of the Atlanta-Toulouse Sister City partnership with the unveiling of Toulouse-based street artist TILT’s restored mural on South Broad Street!

This piece on South Broad Street in downtown Atlanta was done for ELEVATE Atlanta in 2012 by Toulouse artist TILT. Part of his signature style, the bubble letters in the flag make up the names of people from the around neighborhood that Tilt met while designing the mural. Twelve years later, Tilt returns to Atlanta to restore this iconic American flag mural, a particularly important symbol in 2024, a pivotal election year in the US.

Stop by on Saturday, October 5 at 10am for the official (re)unveiling of this emblematic downtown Atlanta flag.

Before you head to South Broad Street, check out this video directed by Benjamin Roudet/Big Addict in 2012 when Tilt first created the mural.

The invitation of TILT and the restoration of this mural are in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the sister city partnership between the cities of Atlanta and Toulouse. This event is a partnership between Villa Albertine, ELEVATE, and France-Atlanta.
