Le San Francisco Silent Film Festival (SFSFF) fait son grand retour après trois ans d’absence ! Le festival aura lieu au célèbre Théatre du Castro à San Francisco, du 5 au 11 mai 2022.
Pour cette programmation, le SFSFFF présente trois films français, en partenariat avec la Villa Albertine San Francisco :
“The King of the Circus” (Le Roi du Cirque) – Edouard-Emile Violet, 1924. Projection Samedi 7 mai à 11h00
“The Divine Voyage” (La Divine Croisière) – Julien Duvivier, 1929. Projection le mercredi 11 mai à 16h30
“Dans La Nuit” – Charles Vanel, 1929. Projection le lundi 9 mai à 19h
L’archiviste français renommé Serge Bromberg de Lobster Films fera la présentation du Roi du Cirque et de La Divine Croisière.

The San Francisco Silent Film Festival (SFSFF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the presentation and preservation of silent cinema, and the education of the public about silent film as an art form and as a culturally valuable historical record.
Throughout the year, SFSFF produces events that showcase important titles from the silent era, often in restored or preserved prints, with live musical accompaniment by some of the world’s finest practitioners of the art of putting music to film. Each presentation exemplifies the extraordinary quality that Academy Award-winning film historian Kevin Brownlow calls “live cinema.”
