{"id":60767,"date":"2021-11-03T21:50:51","date_gmt":"2021-11-03T21:50:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/the-villa\/participants-announced-digital-playgrounds-new-program-supporting-creation-french-video-games-and\/"},"modified":"2023-08-23T07:49:28","modified_gmt":"2023-08-23T07:49:28","slug":"participants-announced-digital-playgrounds-new-program-supporting-creation-french-video-games-and","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/va\/uncategorized\/participants-announced-digital-playgrounds-new-program-supporting-creation-french-video-games-and\/","title":{"rendered":"Participants Announced for Digital Playgrounds \u2014 New Program\u202fSupporting the Creation of French Video Games and Immersive Experiences in New York"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Villa Albertine today announced the first six participants of <a href=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/professionals\/digital-playgrounds\"><strong><em>Digital Playgrounds<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, a new personalized artistic support program for writers of French video games and immersive experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Designed by Villa Albertine with support from the Centre national du cin\u00e9ma et de l&#8217;image anim\u00e9e (CNC), <em>Digital Playgrounds<\/em> helps writers and their creations reach an international audience by building stronger connections with American experts in the field, centered on high-potential works in progress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From November 29 to December 3, 2021, <\/strong>the six particiants will take part in an online program of masterclasses and mentoring sessions with American experts,\u202fin order to\u202fbetter understand\u202flabor practices\u202fin\u202fthe United States and work on\u202fwriting\u202ftheir projects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From June 4 to 19<\/strong><strong> in <\/strong><strong>\u202f<\/strong><strong>New York,<\/strong> the participants will receive group support through a week-long, in-person\u202fworkshop\u202fincluding\u202fvisits and\u202fmeetings with script doctors, producers,\u202fand\u202feditors, as well as feedback sessions with French and American peers. They will have the opportunity to\u202flive\u202fin New York\u202ffor two weeks to work on their project, meet experienced professionals, and\u202fexplore\u202fthe local ecosystem of immersive and interactive creation. Throughout the program, participants will\u202fbe able\u202fto present their projects at\u202fshows and\u202fevents, both remotely and in New York.\u202f\u202f<\/p>\n<p>The participants were selected by a jury of French and American video game and XR professionals: Marianne L\u00e9vy-Leblond (Arte), Darragh Dandurand (Independent expert), Marie Blondiaux (Red Corner), Michel Bams (Lionbridge Gaming), Francis Ingrand (Plug-in-Digital), and Eric Zimmerman (Gamelab).<\/p>\n<p>Assembled on October 22nd 2021, this expert jury selected <strong>three video game and three immersive experience projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>The participants are:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Benjamin Hoguet &amp; L\u00e9a Ducr\u00e9 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>LE PARADIGME DU CERISIER \/ THE CHERRY TREE PARADIGM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Cherry Tree Paradigm (Virtual reality game) is an anti-management game for VR. As Little Girl, you\u2019ll combat the all-powerful Narrator and try to change the mindset of the Villagers. You\u2019ll lose at first. But then you\u2019ll disobey. You\u2019ll deviate.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Farhanaz Elahee<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PROJECT BLUE BIRD<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Blue Bird (2D game) is a retelling and adaptation of Charles Perrault\u2019s famous fairytale Bluebeard. What if we didn\u2019t know the actual story of Bluebeard? If we allowed the dead wives to speak, what would they tell us? What\u2019s the story of the magic key? So many interesting questions to explore.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mani<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MICROMEGAS <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Micromegas (2D game) two contrasted lonely creatures are surprised by the fall of strange debris from the sky. Motivated to find the origin of this growing chaos, they will face huge infernal machines made of dangerous mechanic-organic pieces.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Antoine Viviani<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MT DIGITAL\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mount Digital is an 500-1000 square meter immersive augmented reality installation, designed for parks and public spaces. In a forest, or in a wasteland, superimposed to the real nature, an invisible explosion freezes holographic explorers in a strange choreography.
