After a rigorous selection process, Villa Albertine has awarded Albertine Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que grants to 42 colleges and universities<\/strong> to organize French festivals on campus from 2024 – 2025. The university film festivals were recognized based on their compelling lineup of events; the support they will receive from different academic departments, and their efforts to reach out to the community at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Albertine Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que grantees will screen at least six films from the program’s 2024-2025<\/a> Film Selection<\/a><\/strong> which include two films by former Villa Albertine residents, Four Daughters<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by Kaouther Ben Hania<\/strong><\/a>, and Our Body<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by Claire Simon<\/strong><\/a>, as well as Palme d\u2019Or and Academy Award-winner, Anatomy of a Fall<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by Justine Triet, and France\u2019s official entry for the 2024 Academy Awards, The Taste of Things<\/a><\/strong><\/em> by Tr\u1ea7n Anh H\u00f9ng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congratulations to our grantees and thank you to everyone who participated!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A special thank you to the dedicated university committee members Anne Kern<\/strong> (SUNY Purchase College), Sam Di Iorio<\/strong> (CUNY Hunter College), and David Gerstner<\/strong> (CUNY College of Staten Island).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next call for applications for festivals grants for the 2025-2026 academic year will open on April 2025<\/strong> with a new film selection, which will be announced in early spring. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
