Between January and December 2027, three laureates will benefit from a research stay lasting between one and three months in a location of their choice in the United States. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The purpose of their residency is to foster original reflections that could not happen otherwise while helping residents renew their practice and create connections with local stakeholders.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All other candidates, including musicians who do not practice within the classical music field, are invited to submit their applications for Villa Albertine\u2019s general multidisciplinary call, launched simultaneously,\u202f<\/em>here<\/em><\/a>.\u202f<\/em>\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n The call is open to all classical music composers, singers, and players, as well as to classical music professionals and conductors with an original research project requiring an immersive stay in the United States.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Villa Albertine offers residents the opportunity to undertake a research and exploratory stay lasting from one to three months in the United States. This residency model is conceived as a field investigation aimed at drawing inspiration from the territory and forming professional connections.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The proposed project can be based on a new initiative specifically designed for Villa Albertine, or it can continue an existing research project that would find unique development in the U.S. In both cases, it is the relationship of the project to the territory that is most important. \u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The applicant must choose a territory that makes sense in relation to the themes they wish to explore. For example, a residency taking place in Seattle would fall under the\u00a0responsibility\u00a0of\u00a0\u00a0Villa\u00a0Albertine\u2019s\u00a0office in San Francisco.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Click here to view our map<\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This call is not limited to French or Francophone applicants but is open to any composer, singer, instrumentalist, conductor, researcher, or professional in the field of classical music who meets the eligibility criteria outlined below, including the requirement to be supported by a French partner.\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t Villa Albertine provides individual support for each resident as well as a variety of\u00a0possible residency\u00a0locations.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The program is implemented through Villa Albertine\u2019s 80 person staff spread across ten cities as well as networks of partnerships with multiple American institutions\u00a0to introduce residents to an environment,\u00a0which\u00a0facilitates\u00a0exchanges, discoveries, self-examination, and reflections.\u202f\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Each Villa Albertine team will offer the resident its expert awareness of the cultural and artistic scene and the chosen area\u2019s network and partners. Depending on each resident\u2019s plans and\u00a0areas\u00a0\u00a0of\u00a0exploration, preparatory work will be done well in advance to\u00a0identify\u00a0the most relevant\u00a0stakeholders\u00a0in the region and surrounding communities.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u202f<\/span>A\u00a0series of meetings and visits will be\u00a0organized\u00a0for each resident, relevant to their project and needs.\u00a0Villa Albertine will assist the\u00a0resident\u00a0in an analysis of their material and logistical needs for the successful execution of their project.<\/span>\u202f\u202f<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n In parallel with the support provided by Villa Albertine, this residency model emphasizes the importance of initiative and autonomy on the part of the applicants\u2014qualities essential for making the most of a field research experience.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Villa Albertine will cover the following transportation and living costs related to the residency:<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Please be advised that Villa Albertine\u00a0cannot cover any other costs except for the transportation and local costs mentioned above.
