The CPGA (French Professional Committee of Art Galleries) and Villa Albertine have joined forces for the first time to launch the Etant Donn\u00e9s <\/em>2022 Prize, awarded to a living artist active in the French art scene and exhibited at the Art Basel Miami Beach 2022.<\/p>\n

Any gallery presenting at least one work from a French artist (or an artist based in France) at Art Basel Miami Beach is eligible to apply for the Etant Donn\u00e9s<\/em> 2022 Prize.<\/p>\n

The winner of the Etant Don<\/em><\/strong>n\u00e9s<\/em><\/strong> Prize will receive $15,000 cash prize<\/strong>,\u00a0funded by CPGA, to be shared between the artist and the gallery.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The artist will be selected\u00a0by a jury composed of 8 major French and American collectors and Museum directors. Art Basel will not be involved in the process of selecting the artist.<\/p>\n

The jury will view the candidates’ presentations\u00a0on the morning of November 29.\u00a0Please note that the work(s) that galleries apply with have to be on view that morning.\u00a0\u00a0The winner will be announced during a champagne toast that evening,\u00a0organized in Miami by Villa Albertine and the French Embassy, in partnership with CPGA.<\/p>\n

\nThe \u00c9tant Donn\u00e9s <\/em>Prize is named after the Etant Donn\u00e9s <\/em>Fund, developed by Villa Albertine and the FACE Foundation, in partnership with the French Embassy in the United States, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the French Institute, the Ford Foundation, the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation, CHANEL and ADAGP. Since its inception in 1994, Etant Donn\u00e9s <\/em>has earned an international reputation by awarding over $3.3 million to fund more than 340 projects and up to 30 curators in hundreds of art institutions all over the United States and in France. The winner of the first Etant Donn\u00e9s<\/em> Prize was Kapwani Kiwanga, represented by Gallery J\u00e9rome Poggi.<\/p>\n

Participation is free for all galleries from all countries.<\/u><\/p>\n
