\u201c The Palace\u201d is a single-user, seated 6DOF 360\u00b0 VR experience, created by Gilles Boustani and co-produced by AnimaViva in Paris and INVR.SPACE in Berlin. It was the first VR project for our french team, which has more experience with projected immersive devices. The creative process was long, with the director working closely with the Familist\u00e8re curator to write a script that was truly faithful to the values of this social utopia. Fortunately, the French studio Vertical was able to rely on the INVR.SPACE teams throughout the production period. INVR handeled the final stages of UNITY development. Several beta tests in different museums allowed us to refine the navigation, which is now very fluid and intuitive. Encounters with the public, at the Familist\u00e8re or at festivals, have been very exciting, with people really enjoying the experience!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gilles Boustani began his career as a photographer in 1987 then he turned his hand to creative video and then film. He alternates between commissioned films (for television or museums) and personal projects, documentaries and fiction. He likes to mix genres, between cinema, live performance and new image technologies. But documentary in all its forms is increasingly asserting itself as his preferred medium. Since 2000, he has taught documentary writing and filmmaking at the Universit\u00e9 Paris I Panth\u00e9on-Sorbonne. He is a cinema referent for the Association Culture du C\u0153ur, responsible for training and supervising reintegration activities through culture, and is a regular speaker at conferences on documentary cinema and new writing. On the project “The Palace” he enjoyed working with Beatrice Lartigue, the well known immersive artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Content<\/strong>: The experience takes place in Guise, between the town and the Social Palace, the site of this exploration. Through the years and spaces of the Familist\u00e8re, \u201cLe Palais\u201d takes you on a journey through the history of this architectural and social utopia. Participants will have to solve riddles, and discover the equivalents of wealth, which they will then have to provide to the inhabitants in order to build \u201cthe Palace\u201d with them. The experience should raise participants’ awareness of the importance of a better distribution of the wealth produced by labor and the urgent need for everyone to commit to a better future. Underlying this is a reflection on the place of humans in our societies.
