About Delphine Horvilleur<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Delphine Horvilleur<\/strong>, born in Nancy in 1974, is a prominent figure in the realms of Jewish culture and religion in France. Alongside her career as a writer, she is France\u2019s third female rabbi. She leads a congregation in Paris and is currently co-leading the Liberal Jewish Movement of France, a Jewish liberal cultural and religious association. Delphine Horvilleur has already written several books on Jewish identity like An Eve’s Attire: Modesty, Desire, and the Female Body<\/em> (MacLehose Press, 2022, originally published in France by Grasset, 2013) or Anti-semitism Revisited:<\/em> How the Rabbis Made Sense of Hatred<\/em> (MacLehose Press, originally published in France by Grasset, 2019). <\/p>\n\n\n

Living with our Dead<\/span><\/span><\/em> is an invitation to accept loss and vulnerability as essential and enriching parts of life. In this profoundly <\/span>humanist<\/span> and moving book, Delphine <\/span>Horvilleur<\/span> celebrates life, recounting eleven stories of loss, mourning and consolation, collected during the years she has spent caring for the dying and their loved ones. <\/span>Horvilleur<\/span> writes both about public figures and ordinary people, rejecting the contemporary tendency to banish death from our lives.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
