This professional residency will take place in Los Angeles from October 6 to 24, 2025. Over three weeks, participants will receive tailored mentorship in English from top industry experts. Through workshops, networking events, and visits to local institutions, the program aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the Hollywood system and strengthen the international potential of their projects.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

An international jury of prominent French and American professionals selected the finalists based on the artistic quality, originality, coherence, international relevance, and creativity of their works. The selected projects reflect a wide range of genres and themes\u2014from a virtual adventure drama to a gritty police series led by a recovering alcoholic detective; a coming-of-age story exploring gender identity; a crime comedy that seeks to unravel the mystery of the murder of a famous influencer on a yacht; and a dark family dramedy.\u00a0 The jury also noted a common thread of contemporary unease across many submissions, reinforcing fiction\u2019s role as a mirror to today\u2019s societal anxieties.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sophie Dab grew up between Paris and the Canadian province of New<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>Brunswick. She received <\/span><\/span>her B.A. in Sociology from McGill University and a M.F.A. from USC\u2019s Peter Stark Producing <\/span><\/span>Program. She interned in the Current and Development departments at Fox Broadcas<\/span><\/span>ting <\/span><\/span>and at Showtime as an intern to the President of the Network (David Nevins). After graduation <\/span><\/span>she started as an assistant to Caitlin Foito, VP of Drama Development at ABC Studios, and <\/span><\/span>then went on to work as a Creative Executive for the LA office of Fede<\/span><\/span>ration. She came back <\/span><\/span>to Paris in 2019 to become a full<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>time screenwriter. Sarah graduated from La F\u00e9mis\u2019 Television Series Program in 2014 and from UCLA\u2019s <\/span><\/span>Professional Program in TV Writing in 2019. She has co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>created and co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>written Off<\/em><\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/em>Season<\/em>, <\/span><\/span>a 6×52\u2019 French Noir<\/span><\/span> (France 3<\/span><\/span> –<\/span><\/span> aired in Sept. 2022), and has co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>created and co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>written <\/span><\/span>Vortex, a 6×52\u2019 sci<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>fi\/romance (France 2\/Netflix<\/span><\/span> \u2013<\/span><\/span> aired in Jan. 2023). <\/span><\/span><\/span>The following year, she contributed to the writing of Car\u00eame<\/em>, a period spy drama (Apple TV+) <\/span><\/span>and co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>created the series Tom & Lola<\/em>, a police procedural (France TV), with Camille <\/span><\/span>Couasse. In 2023, she launched her own company<\/span><\/span> \u2013<\/span><\/span> Loch Ness Productions<\/span><\/span> \u2013<\/span><\/span> to co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>produce <\/span><\/span>her projects both in France and internationally. Marc Kressmann is a screenwriter, head writer, and producer. In his early career, he worked <\/span><\/span>as a copywriter and freelance journalist. After starting out as a screenwriter for animation <\/span><\/span>and daily soap operas, he co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>created La Nouvelle Maud. He then wrote tw<\/span><\/span>o radio series for <\/span><\/span>France Culture and numerous episodes for various TV series before becoming the <\/span><\/span>showrunner for Candice Renoir (a crime comedy that won an award at the Seoul <\/span><\/span>International Drama Awards in 2018), Munch (a legal comedy), and Demain Nous <\/span><\/span>Appa<\/span><\/span>rtient (a soap opera). He recently co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>wrote the tv movie Meurtres en P\u00e9rigord Vert. He <\/span><\/span>is currently developing two projects as writer and co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>producer : Infaillible(s), a crime <\/span><\/span>comedy, and Bloody Marie, a crime drama. Elodie Namer is a screenwriter and director based in Paris. She studied literature and <\/span><\/span>worked as a journalist before turning to writing for television and film.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

In 2015, she wrote and directed her first feature film, The Tournament<\/em>, which explores the <\/span><\/span>world of high<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>level chess. To prepare for the film, she learned to play and immersed herself <\/span><\/span>for over a year in the world of professional tournaments. <\/span><\/span><\/span>An eclectic writer, she enjoys working across a variety of genres and settings: her most <\/span><\/span>recent feature film, Miss<\/em>, is a dramedy centered around questions of gender, while The Lost <\/em><\/span><\/span>Patient<\/em> (Arte\/Netflix) is a psychological thriller. She has also contribute<\/span><\/span>d to numerous <\/span><\/span>series for major French broadcasters, including Six Women and One of us<\/em> for TF1. <\/span><\/span><\/span>She recently completed the script for Christophe Charrier\u2019s upcoming feature film and co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>created a new series for TF1, Le Diplome, which is set to air in 2026.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Louise Silverio is a French screenwriter born in 1993. A graduate of SciencesPo Paris, La <\/span><\/span>F\u00e9mis (Production Department), and the<\/span><\/span> Serial Eyes<\/span><\/span> screenwriting program at the DFFB, she <\/span><\/span>lives and works in Paris. She began her career writing short form series, collaborating with <\/span><\/span>both French and international artists. <\/span><\/span><\/span>She co<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>wrote<\/span><\/span> Happiness<\/span><\/em> (15×6\u2019, Arte), an Iranian coming<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>of<\/span><\/span>–<\/span><\/span>age story selected at S\u00e9ries <\/span><\/span>Mania 2021;<\/span><\/span> Ceux qui Rougissent<\/span><\/em> (8×10\u2019, Arte), awarded Best Short Form Series at S\u00e9ries <\/span><\/span>Mania 2024; and the second season of<\/span><\/span> Amours Solitaires<\/span><\/em>, <\/span><\/span>Lewis & Noa<\/span><\/span> (20×3\u2019, Arte \/ France <\/span><\/span>T\u00e9l\u00e9visions), which reached a wide audience with several million views.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
