Spanning disciplines and continents, Villa Albertine reimagines the traditional residency model. In addition to hosting location-specific residencies, Villa Albertine tailors each residency to the unique needs of the creator and their project as well as offering a select number of multi-city opportunities. These residencies prioritize exploration and deep engagement with the American context, focusing on the development of new ideas rather than the completion of a finished work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The final selection jury for Villa Albertine\u2019s 2026 residencies included: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jury member Katherine Fleming noted, \u201cNot only Villa Albertine\u2019s residencies have a tremendous impact on the careers and thought processes of the artists and creators selected, but they also have a big impact on the institutions with which they interact during their residencies, and over time, the outcomes of the residencies has a huge impact on audiences.<\/em>\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n From November 2024 to January 2025, the call for applications for Villa Albertine\u2019s 2026 residency program was open to creators, researchers, and cultural professionals of all nationalities. Local expert committees in each of Villa Albertine\u2019s 10 locations convened to shortlist candidates.
