Los Angeles"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In partnership with the Laboratoire des pratiques durables of the Manufactures Nationales \u2013 Mobilier National &amp; S\u00e8vres, Villa Albertine is now accepting applications for a ten-day professional immersion program in Los Angeles and the Californian desert, aimed at French or France-based designers developing projects around innovative materials, sustainable practices and cutting-edge technology. The program aims to foster meaningful connections between French designers and the dynamic professional ecosystem of Southern California.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br><strong>Program Overview<\/strong><br>&nbsp;<br>The immersion program, taking place from November 11 to 22 (including travel time), will feature:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Meetings <\/strong>with institution representatives, curators, architects, designers, entrepreneurs, gallery owners, and academics, as well as visits to iconic sites. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Visits to cutting-edge laboratories<\/strong> specializing in materials innovation, sustainable production, and new technologies.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A<strong> conference<\/strong> at a cultural institution during which participants will present their work and research.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A launch event attended&nbsp;by industry professionals. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Personalized support<\/strong> to understand the creative landscape of the West Coast.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Logistical Support&nbsp;<\/strong><br>Villa Albertine will cover:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Round trip travel from France to Los Angeles&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accommodations, meals, and transportation&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Eligibility Requirements<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program is open to candidates meeting the following criteria:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be a designer <strong>under 45<\/strong> years of age, with a minimum of<strong> five years of professional work experience<\/strong> in the field. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Possess French nationality<\/strong> or have been living and working in France for <strong>at least 5 years. <\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Are developing <strong>applied research or a concrete project<\/strong> involving sustainable materials or production innovations in the field of design. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a <strong>good command of English. <\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>Application Materials<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications should be submitted via <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/e2iynrHCCB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this form<\/a> and include the following materials:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A <strong>cover letter<\/strong>, explaining the candidate\u2019s interest&nbsp;in this immersion experience with regard to their background, their eco-responsible approach, and their objectives in the United States. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>short biography<\/strong> (1500 characters max.)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>portfolio of work<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A two<strong>-minute video<\/strong>, introducing the candidate and demonstrating their <strong>ability to communicate in English. <\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A <strong>copy of a valid passport<\/strong> (at least 4 months after the return date)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of <strong>SIRET number <\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications will be evaluated by an independent French-American jury, comprised of design, innovation, and research professionals, based on the quality of the project, its potential for economic development, its relevance to California\u2019s design scene, and the applicant&#8217;s motivation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Call for applications open<\/strong> : May 14,2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Application deadline: <\/strong>June 14, 2025 at 11:59 PM (French time)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Selection by jury<\/strong>: End of June 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Announcement of laureates<\/strong>: July 2025<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>This program is supported by Manufactures nationales, Fondation Bettencourt Schueller, Institut fran\u00e7ais, and Lionel and Ariane Sauvage. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions before submitting your application, please contact:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Diane Josse, Cultural Attach\u00e9 &amp;
