Through extensive research in French and American archives, she has brought renewed attention to the lives and contributions of French artists, explorers, pioneers, and adventurers. Her publications include <em>Splendide Californie!<\/em>, <em>Chronicling the West for Harper\u2019s<\/em>, <em>Jules Tavernier: Artist &amp; Adventurer<\/em>, <em>Barbizon by the Pacific<\/em>, and <em>French San Francisco<\/em>.
