This month, audiences can continue to check out major U.S. releases, including <em>Palestine 36<\/em>, <em>A Magnificent Life<\/em>, <em>Reunion<\/em>, <em>The Stranger<\/em>, <em>Two Pianos<\/em>, and <em>The Little Sister<\/em> which is out in theaters on June 5, alongside curated programming on platforms such as <a href=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/va\/events\/tv5monde-program-highlights-may2026\/\">TV5MONDE<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.criterion.com\/current\/posts\/9126-the-criterion-channel-s-may-2026-lineup?srsltid=AfmBOopc5Zwjes91SYq_JMnz6s3Khxx2Sa7umOz103S11HakF0Nkd7MC\">The Criterion Channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In New York, the month is also marked by key cultural moments, including <a href=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/va\/events\/french-films-at-the-2026-african-film-festival\/\">The African Film Festival<\/a> at Lincoln Center, Maysles Documentary Center, and BAMcinema, as well as retrospectives and special programs across partner institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are also delighted to announce the 2026\u20132027 selection of Albertine Cin\u00e9math\u00e8que, bringing French cinema to U.S. campuses. <a href=\"https:\/\/albertinefoundation.org\/french-for-all\/albertine-cinematheque\/\">Read more<\/a> about the film selection and the participating universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Villa Albertine is proud to highlight the selection of two former residents at Cannes Festival 2026.&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/va\/residents\/phuong-mai-nguyen\/\">Phuong Mai Nguyen <\/a>will open the 65th edition of Cannes Critics\u2019 Week with <em>In Waves<\/em>, an animated adaptation of AJ Dungo\u2019s acclaimed graphic novel. 2023 Villa Albertine resident <a href=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/va\/residents\/ugo-arsac\/\">Ugo Arsac <\/a>presents <em>Katabasis<\/em>, selected for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.festival-cannes.com\/en\/press\/press-releases\/immersive-competition-selection-of-the-79th-festival-de-cannes\/\">Immersive Competition of the 79th Festival de Cannes<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Villa Albertine will also take part in the March\u00e9 du Film with a panel titled <em>\u201c<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marchedufilm.com\/marche-conferences\/conference-schedule\/\">Immersive Talk on Artist Residencies, Cinema, and New Imaginaries<\/a><em>.\u201d<\/em> This discussion will invite former residents to explore how residency programs contribute to shaping emerging artistic practices and redefining cinematic narratives in the age of immersive media. In New York, the immersive theater scene continues to expand with <a href=\"https:\/\/tickets.masqueradenyc.com\/event\/35985?PROMO=FCVA\"><em>Masquerade: The Phantom of the Opera, Reimagined<\/em><\/a>, offering audiences a new way to experience the iconic story through participatory performance.
