Kelly,\u00a0the exhibition runs\u00a0from March 14 to May 3, 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition marks the\u00a0achievement\u00a0of the City\/Cit\u00e9 Atlanta\u00a0x\u00a0Marseille\u00a0platform\u00a0launched in 2022,\u00a0putting in dialogue two major southern cities shaped by layered histories, migration, and strong cultural identities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four artists, who completed residencies abroad, present new works developed through immersion and exchange.\u00a0Marseille-based photographers\u00a0<strong>Yohanne\u00a0Lamoul\u00e8re<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Geoffroy Mathieu<\/strong>\u00a0traveled to Atlanta,\u00a0a major center for\u00a0African American\u00a0culture and a fast-growing metropolis.\u00a0On the other\u00a0hand,\u00a0Atlanta-based\u00a0artists\u00a0<strong>Nydia Blas\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Joshua Dudley Greer<\/strong>\u00a0spent time in Marseille, an open port on the\u00a0Mediterranean Sea\u00a0with a\u00a0cultural melting\u00a0pot yet\u00a0also marked by geographical and social divisions. Kelly<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Maria L. Kelly<\/strong> is the Assistant Curator of Photography at the High Museum of Art. Maria was the curatorial assistant in the High\u2019s photography department from 2011 to 2016 and returned to the museum in 2019. During her time at the High, Maria has helped organize more than twenty-five photography installations. Her exhibitions at the High include <em>Photography\u2019s New Vision: Experiments in Seeing<\/em> (2025), <em>Tyler Mitchell: Idyllic Space <\/em>(2024), <em>Underexposed: Women Photographers from the Collection<\/em> (2021), <em>What Is Near: Reflections on Home<\/em> (2016), <em>Helen Levitt: In the Street (2015)<\/em>, and <em>Leonard Freed: Black in White America<\/em> (2014). She was the venue curator for <em>Deana Lawson<\/em> (2022), co-organized by the ICA Boston and MoMA PS1, and <em>Andr\u00e9 Kert\u00e9sz: Postcards from Paris<\/em> (2022), organized by the Art Institute of Chicago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yohanne Lamoul\u00e8re<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yohanne Lamoul\u00e8re<\/strong>, a photographer based in Marseille, France, graduated from the \u00c9cole nationale sup\u00e9rieure de photographie in Arles in 2004. Her preferred themes are urban peripheries and insularity in its multifaceted forms. She published <em>Faux Bourgs<\/em> (Le Bec en l\u2019air) in 2018, a compilation of her series on Marseille. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions: MUCEM (Marseille), Portrait(s) festival (Vichy), Fondation Schneider (Wattwiller), ImageSinguli\u00e8res festival (S\u00e8te), Clervaux-Cit\u00e9 de l\u2019image (Luxembourg), and is included in public and private collections (CNAP, BnF, Neuflize-OBC). A member of the collectives Tendance Floue and Zirlib, she released her first film, <em>L\u2019\u0153il Noir,<\/em> in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nydia\u00a0Blas<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Nydia\u00a0Blas<\/strong>\u00a0is\u00a0a\u00a0visual\u00a0artist\u00a0who\u00a0grew\u00a0up in Ithaca, New York, and\u00a0resides\u00a0in Atlanta, Georgia.\u00a0She\u00a0is\u00a0an Assistant Professor in the\u00a0Department\u00a0of Art and Visual Culture at\u00a0Spelman\u00a0College\u00a0in Atlanta, Georgia.\u00a0She\u00a0has\u00a0completed\u00a0artist\u00a0residencies\u00a0at Constance\u00a0Saltonstall\u00a0Foundation\u00a0for the Arts and The Center for\u00a0Photography\u00a0at Woodstock.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her&nbsp;work&nbsp;has been&nbsp;commissioned&nbsp;by&nbsp;<em>The New York Times<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>New York Magazine<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>The New&nbsp;Yorker<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Time Magazine<\/em>,&nbsp;<em>Harper\u2019s&nbsp;Bazaar,<\/em>&nbsp;and more. Blas&nbsp;uses&nbsp;photography, collage,&nbsp;video, and books to explore&nbsp;themes&nbsp;of&nbsp;sexuality,&nbsp;intimacy, and&nbsp;her&nbsp;lived&nbsp;experience&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;girl,&nbsp;woman, and&nbsp;mother. Blas&nbsp;is&nbsp;widely&nbsp;recognized&nbsp;for&nbsp;<em>The Girls&nbsp;Who&nbsp;Spun&nbsp;Gold<\/em>, a collection of images&nbsp;that&nbsp;resulted&nbsp;from&nbsp;a Girl&nbsp;Empowerment&nbsp;Group&nbsp;she&nbsp;founded&nbsp;after&nbsp;observing&nbsp;a&nbsp;lack&nbsp;of&nbsp;space&nbsp;and&nbsp;community&nbsp;for&nbsp;teen&nbsp;girls of&nbsp;African&nbsp;descent&nbsp;in Ithaca, N.Y. Her first major&nbsp;monograph&nbsp;<em>Love You Came&nbsp;from&nbsp;Greatness<\/em>&nbsp;(2025),&nbsp;is&nbsp;an exploration of one Ithaca-based&nbsp;Black&nbsp;family&nbsp;and&nbsp;its&nbsp;community&nbsp;across&nbsp;many&nbsp;generations. The book&nbsp;is&nbsp;also&nbsp;a&nbsp;formally&nbsp;rigorous&nbsp;examination&nbsp;of the&nbsp;taxonomy&nbsp;and&nbsp;syntax&nbsp;of&nbsp;family&nbsp;portraiture.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Geoffroy Mathieu\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Geoffroy Mathieu<\/strong>\u2019s photography explores how environmental and political issues\u00a0are made tangible in the\u00a0landscapes. Through travel\u00a0and\u00a0immersion\u00a0based\u00a0projects, he documents shifting territories, in-between spaces, and\u00a0objects\u00a0and\u00a0actions that reveal\u00a0resistances in the way in which places are used.\u00a0His\u00a0photography series are all pursued as poetic investigations,\u00a0combining rigorous documentary research with a poetic approach to build\u00a0situated narratives. He\u00a0collaborates with associations,\u00a0collectives,\u00a0and researchers to circulate his images beyond the art world, support\u00a0causes,\u00a0and contribute to public debate on ecological care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A graduate of the\u00a0French Higher School of Photography (ENSP) in Arles,\u00a0he lives and works in Marseille.\u00a0He presents his works as publications (Actes\u00a0Sud,\u00a0Poursuite,\u00a0Filigranes,\u00a0Zo\u00e8me,\u00a0Wildproject, Building Books), solo or collective exhibitions, and, more recently, walked performances. He\u00a0participated\u00a0in the fourth edition of Regards du Grand Paris (2021), received the\u00a0\u201cRadioscopie\u00a0of\u00a0France&#8221;\u00a0Major\u00a0Photojournalism Commission\u00a0(2022), and co-published\u00a0Anti-installation\u00a0with Jordi Ballesta (Building Books, 2023), supported by the\u00a0French Center for Visual Arts (CNAP) publishing grant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Joshua Dudley Greer <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joshua Dudley Greer (b. 1980, Hazleton, PA) is a photographer based in Atlanta, GA, where he teaches at Georgia State University. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The California Sunday Magazine, The Atlantic, PDN, Le Monde, The Georgia Review, GUP Magazine, and Oxford American. He has received grants from the Maryland State Arts Council, Tennessee Arts Commission, and the Aaron Siskind Foundation. He has published two monographs to date \u2013 Somewhere Along the Line (Kehrer Verlag, 2019) and The Makeshift City (GOST, 2024).
