The movie will start at 7:00PM. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>LEAP !<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>Directed by Eric Summer, \u00c9ric Warin, 2017, 1h29,USA<\/p>\n\n<p>Best friends F\u00e9licie and Victor hatch a plan to escape from their rural orphanage in 19th-century France. F\u00e9licie dreams of becoming a ballerina, while Victor wants to use his brainpower to invent things. After busting out, F\u00e9licie makes her way to the Paris Opera where she joins a class of highly trained dancers who are auditioning for the lead in a production of &#8220;The Nutcracker.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p>This event is made possible by the participation of the Martin Luther King Memorial.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n\t<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n\t\t<iframe loading=\"lazy\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/h-huA2o6OOY\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\t<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p><em>Forget Me Not Yet\u00a0<\/em>is an exploration of our relationship with memory. Made in collaboration with the company members, this abstract work engages both the dancers\u2019 and the audience\u2019s unique yet universal experiences &#8211; whether traumatic, fleeting, or silly &#8211; and demonstrates how they are essential to our core being. The performers&#8217; personal memories and stories serve as the visual and audio landscape for the movement, as the dancers weave through the four types of memory: implicit, sensory, short-term, and long-term.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Moveius Contemporary Ballet<\/strong>&#8216;s mission is to catalyze new choreography in Washington, DC and increase opportunities for dancers, audiences, and students to experience dance and the performing arts.
