The solo,\u00a0devised and danced by Luiz de Abreu before being passed on to Calixto Neto, deconstructs the representations of the black body in Brazilian culture by bringing about a shift from a body-object to a body-subject.<\/p>\n<p>This event is a collaboration between Villa Albertine as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/events\/albertine-dance-season\/\">Albertine Dance Season<\/a>, the Department of Performance Studies, Tisch School of the Arts, \u00a0the Department of Dance, and the Center for Disability Studies at New York University.
