This invitation-only program fosters critical dialogue about the Chicago and Midwest art scenes from an international perspective.<br \/>\nIn partnership with Villa Albertine Chicago,\u00a0<strong>this year\u2019s participants from France are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Guillaume D\u00e9sanges, Director, <a href=\"http:\/\/palaisdetokyo.com\/en\/\">Palais de Tokyo in Paris<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>Guillaume D\u00e9sanges is curator and art critic. In January 2022, he was named president of the Palais de Tokyo. He founded Work Method, a Paris based agency for curatorial projects.\u00a0From 2013 to 2022, he was responsible for the artistic programme of La Verri\u00e8re &#8211; Fondation d\u2019entreprise Herm\u00e8s in Brussels. From 2015 to 2019, he also curated the M\u00e9thode Room, an artist residency in Chicago.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cl\u00e9ment Postec,\u00a0Art Advisor,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ateliersmedicis.fr\/\">Ateliers M\u00e9dicis<\/a><\/strong>. He\u00a0is currently artistic advisor at Ateliers M\u00e9dicis.\u00a0Graduate of Universit\u00e9 Sorbonne Nouvelle, Institut d&#8217;\u00c9tudes Politiques of Strasbourg and Sciences Po, he has been involved for more than ten years in the development of projects at the crossroads of cinema and contemporary art (films, exhibitions) as well as the deployment of cultural venues and institutions. He is also an exhibition curator and filmmaker.\u00a0For Ateliers M\u00e9dicis, he designs artistic programs (commissions, residencies, workshops, editions) and he is chief curator for exhibitions such as Regards du Grand Paris in 2022. Moderated by\u00a0<strong>Armelle Malvoisin\u00a0<\/strong>(Beaux Arts Magazine, Quotidien de l\u2019Art).\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Over the last decade the relationship between Paris and Chicago\u2019s artistic scenes has continued to deepen thanks to support for artist exchanges through commercial galleries, museums, government-funded residencies and French collectors based in Chicago and Paris. Gallerists J\u00e9r\u00f4me Poggi (J\u00e9r\u00f4me Poggi Gallery) and Mariane Ibrahim\u00a0(Mariane Ibrahim Gallery, Chicago, Paris, Mexico) and museum president Guillaume D\u00e9sanges (Palais de Tokyo) will discuss different ways of supporting artists in an international career across gallery representation, institutional exposure and international collecting alongside artist Paul Maheke, current resident of Villa Albertine in Chicago.
