Linda Powell was elected Executive Vice President of SAG-AFTRA at the union’s bi-annual convention in October 2023.\u00a0 She is a New York-based actress, who has appeared off and on Broadway and can be seen in shows, including Dopesick<\/em>, Modern Love<\/em>, House of Cards<\/em>, Chicago Fire<\/em>, Madam Secretary<\/em>, and Law & Order SVU<\/em>. Her film credits include The Report<\/em>, The Courtroom<\/em>, I Think I Love my Wife<\/em>, and American Gangster<\/em>.\u00a0Most recently, she enjoyed a long run starring as Neil Diamond\u2019s therapist in the Broadway bio-musical \u201cA Beautiful Noise.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n About Art in the Age of AI<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Villa Albertine\u2019s Art in the Age of AI <\/strong>event is a two-day exploration of the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on creative practices, present and future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Bringing together French and U.S.-based artists, tech world leaders, museum directors, journalists, scholars, and lawyers, the event will include panel discussions and demonstrations featuring representatives from OpenAI, SAG-AFTRA, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the U.S. Copyright Office, Google, the French Government\u2019s AI Commission, Columbia University, Sciences Po, Polytechnique, and more. As a Vice Chair of the TV\/Theatrical negotiating committee, Ms. Powell played an integral role in the union\u2019s recent strike and subsequent contract ratification. A national board member since 2012, her election to Executive Vice President makes her the first African-American to serve in the top tier of leadership since the merged union\u2019s inception. Linda also serves as a trustee of the SAG-AFTRA Health and Pension plans; Chair of the Board of Advisors to the Colin Powell School at the City College of New York; and is a proud member of the Actors’ Equity Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
