Night of Ideas 2022<\/p>\n\t\t<\/figcaption>\n\t<\/figure>\n

Developed and hosted in partnership with 50+ institutions, the nighttime gatherings will enable the public to engage with leading thinkers, scientists, novelists, activists, and artists around the theme Where Are We Going?<\/em><\/strong>. Featuring diverse and bespoke programs, Night of Ideas<\/a> 2022 provides a community-wide exploration of myriad paths forward for a world in crisis: from local movements for climate action, to global perspectives on decolonization, to a reimagination of our democratic institutions, and much, much more.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Night of Ideas is being presented in 100 countries worldwide, including the United States, coordinated by the Institut Fran\u00e7ais<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Among this year\u2019s 200+ artists, philosophers, researchers, performers, and more are musician, author, and poet Patti Smith<\/strong>, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens<\/strong>, Goncourt Prize-winning Franco-Moroccan novelist Le\u00efla Slimani<\/strong>, Lenape Center Director Joe Baker<\/strong>, philosopher, anthropologist, and sociologist Bruno Latour<\/strong>, resident musician and composer S\u00e9l\u00e8ne Saint-Aim\u00e9<\/strong>, author and urban thinker Ryan Gravel<\/strong>, Director of the Atlantic Council\u2019s Africa Center Rama Yade<\/strong>, Poetry Foundation President Michelle Boone<\/strong>, Director of the Umass Energy Transition Initiative Erin Baker<\/strong>, resident numerical analyst Aur\u00e9lie Jean<\/strong>, Los Angles Chief Sustainability Officer Lauren Faber<\/strong>, political scientist Claire Sagan<\/strong>, food author and chef Ad\u00e1n Medrano<\/strong>, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events Erin Harkey<\/strong>, ethologist, neurologist, and psychiatrist Boris Cyrulnik<\/strong>, resident multidisciplinary artists Loo Hui Phang<\/strong> and Joseph d’Anvers<\/strong>, and Yann LeCun<\/strong>, Chief AI Scientist at Meta.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n

Night of Ideas was first introduced to the US in 2015 by the French Embassy and further developed through an ongoing partnership with the Brooklyn Public Library.
