The melancholic drama showcases Denis\u2019 knack for capturing the intimate sensuality of everyday life, bolstered by a gorgeous score from regular collaborators Tindersticks.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights of the 23-film lineup include\u00a0<em>Authentik<\/em>\u00a0by Audrey Estrougo, a biopic of rap duo Supr\u00eame NTM; Emmanuel Carr\u00e8re\u2019s\u00a0<em>Between Two Worlds<\/em>, which takes inspiration from investigative journalist Florence Aubenas\u2019s 2010 best-selling nonfiction book\u00a0<em>The Night Cleaner<\/em>;\u00a0<em>Deception<\/em>, master filmmaker Arnaud Desplechin\u2019s adaptation of Philip Roth\u2019s classic novel, encompassing a fusion of rigorous intellectual discourse and fervid emotionality; Rendez-Vous regular Christophe Honor\u00e9\u2019s\u00a0<em>Guermantes<\/em>, cunningly shot and wonderfully imagined by Honor\u00e9\u2019s theatrical community despite the production\u2019s debilitating COVID delays;\u00a0<em>Hold Me Tight<\/em>, Mathieu\u2019s Amalric\u2019s daringly fluid portrait of one woman\u2019s fractured psyche; Antoine Barraud\u2019s third narrative feature,\u00a0<em>Madeleine Collins<\/em>, equal parts drama and thriller, starring Virginie Efira (Paul Verhoeven\u2019s\u00a0<em>Benedetta<\/em>);\u00a0<em>Our Men<\/em>, starring director and Rendez-Vous regular Louis Garrel and directed by Rachel Lang, drawing upon her own background as an officer in the French army reserves;\u00a0<em>Paris, 13th District<\/em>, Palme d\u2019Or\u2013winner Jacques Audiard\u2019s exploration of casual sex, and relationships in an unsparing but nonjudgmental portrait of young Parisians; and much more.<\/p>\n<p>Confirmed to appear in person at the festival are: Mathieu Amalric, Jacques Audiard, Antoine Barraud,\u00a0Philippe B\u00e9ziat,\u00a0Juliette Binoche, Charline Bourgeois-Tacquet, Leyla Bouzid, Vincent Ma\u00ebl Cardona, Emilie Carpentier, Emmanuel Carr\u00e8re, Claire Denis, Arnaud Desplechin, Eric Dumont, D\u00e9borah Lukumuena, Aur\u00e9lia Georges, Axelle Ropert, with more to follow.<\/p>\n<p>Free talks include a sit-down with filmmakers Claire Denis and official festival Guest of Honor Jim Jarmusch in an extended conversation about their decades-spanning careers; Juliette Binoche and D\u00e9borah Lukumuena, meeting to discuss their professional trajectories and creative influences; and \u201cWorking the image: a French-American look at cinematography,\u201d a special panel organized in partnership with\u00a0French In Motion and the Gotham Film &amp; Media Institute that will bring together French and American filmmakers and cinematographers to discuss their varied inspirations, creative philosophies, and artistic practices.<\/p>\n<p>Moviegoers will have the opportunity to recognize their favorite film in the lineup with the third annual Rendez-Vous Audience Award.
