Layered with nuanced socio-political underpinnings, this gripping French crime thriller is an impressive debut feature that explores identity and belonging within the Tamil Community of Paris while skillfully blending stylistic elements of epic Western crime thrillers with the vibrant aesthetics of South Indian Cinema. Having shown at the prestigious Critics\u2019 Week of the Venice Film Festival, Bay Area audiences now have the exclusive opportunity to see the film, which has been described as dynamic, memorable, and impressive by critics.

Lawrence Valin <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lawrence Valin grew up in Paris and graduated from La F\u00e9mis with the La R\u00e9sidence program. In 2020, his medium-length film The Loyal Man was selected for the Clermont-Ferrand Festival, where he received the Best Actor Award and was nominated for the C\u00e9sar Award for Best Short Film 2021. His first feature film, Little Jaffna, won the Gan Foundation Award and received the Grand Prix du Sc\u00e9nario 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
