Their practice combines research, experimentation, and design to rethink how spaces can care for both their occupants and their environments, contributing to a more inclusive society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantadesignfestival.net\/e\/conference\/\">Atlanta Design Festival\u2019s Creative Futures Conference<\/a>, Martin and Van Steenkiste will present their talk <em>\u201c<strong>Care in Architecture and Design: From the Circular Economy to Disability.<\/strong>\u201d<\/em> Drawing on projects developed in France and abroad, they will discuss their approach as practitioners committed to integrating care into architectural thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their transatlantic exploration began in 2024, when they spent three months in the United States studying innovative models of senior housing through the AIA\u2019s Delano &amp; Aldrich\/Emerson grant. This research will culminate in a book and exhibition planned for 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2025,<a href=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/va\/residents\/aurelia-martin-mathilde-van-steenkiste\/\"> the duo returns to the U.S. as Villa Albertine Atlanta residents with <em>Quilt and Care<\/em><\/a>, a project at the crossroads of healthcare research, textile design, and autism studies. During their October residency, they will collaborate with local partners to imagine how fabrics and designed objects can become tools for care and connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All info about <a href=\"https:\/\/atlantadesignfestival.net\/e\/conference\/\">Atlanta Design Festival<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/atlantadesignfestival.net\/events\/conference-tickets-2025\/\">GET YOUR TICKETS <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This event is part of the programming of the season <a href=\"https:\/\/direct.me\/franceatlanta\">France-Atlanta 2025<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:0px\">The story began in May 2023, when French saxophonist and composer Rapha\u00ebl Imbert embarked on a Villa Albertine residency in the United States. His project, <em>Music is My Field<\/em>, set out to explore the rich musical traditions of the Southeast and Appalachia. It was in Atlanta that Imbert first connected with saxophonist Kebbi Williams and his collective, Reverence, during the city\u2019s <em>Music in the Park<\/em> festival.That encounter sparked a transatlantic artistic exchange. Imbert invited Williams to perform at the J.E.S.T. Festival in Marseille in November 2023, and later at the <em>Marseille Jazz des Cinq Continents<\/em> festival in July 2024. The collaboration deepened in November 2024, when Imbert came back to Atlanta. Alongside Marseille-based musicians T.I.E. (electronics) and Blanche Lafuente (drums), he traveled to Atlanta to co-create a new piece with Williams, Zacchaeus Paul, and Daniel Wytanis. Since 2019, she has taught in master\u2019s programs in design and innovation, driven by her belief that culture and education are inseparable.
