Bringing together artists, researchers, curators, and thinkers, the symposium is structured around three thematic sections: Fractals of Invisibility, Politics of Visibility and Poetics of Opacity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participants from France are made possible in part with the support of Villa Albertine ; these include Nina Volz, Head of International Development, and moderator Louise Thurin, both from Paris-based <a href=\"https:\/\/awarewomenartists.com\/en\/\">AWARE<\/a> (Archives of Women Artists Research &amp; Exhibitions), and Franco-Gabonese performing artist <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/residents\/myriam-mihindou\/\" target=\"_blank\">Myriam Mihindou<\/a>.\u00a0Also in participation, Miami-based French Caribbean multimedia artist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marielleplaisir.com\/\">Marielle Plaisir<\/a> who is part of a conversation entitled\u00a0<em>The Politics of Visibility<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"735\" src=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Capture-decran-2023-10-16-115930-1-1024x735.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-329879\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.3931972789115645;width:397px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Capture-decran-2023-10-16-115930-1-1024x735.png 1024w, https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Capture-decran-2023-10-16-115930-1-300x215.png 300w, https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Capture-decran-2023-10-16-115930-1-768x551.png 768w, https:\/\/villa-albertine.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Capture-decran-2023-10-16-115930-1.png 1062w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Myriam Mihindou is a multidisciplinary artist&nbsp;currently in residence at the Villa Albertine in New York. She has lived in many parts of the world, including the African continent and around the Indian Ocean. Her work explores the physical and mental impacts of trauma caused by colonial or oppressive systems or what she calls \u201cbruises of the soul\u201d.
