Since the uprising of a pro-Russian insurgency in eastern Ukraine in 2014, hundreds of <\/span>woman<\/span> have<\/span> joined the arm<\/span>ed forces<\/span>. Only a few<\/span> have<\/span> made it to the front line. Filmmaker Masha embeds herself in the war zone to follow the daily life of three of <\/span>female soldiers fighting on the frontlines<\/span>. <\/span>By sharing the intimacy of these fighters, Masha<\/span> herself<\/span> soon becomes a victim of th<\/span>e <\/span>conflict jeopardizing this film and<\/span> also<\/span> her life.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Born in 1989, Masha Kondakova grew up in Kiev in a family of Russian scientists. Her childhood is shaped by the fall of the Soviet Union, which had drastic consequences for the country and her own family.
As a result, corruption, women\u2019s rights and nepotism, have been themes that Masha continues to explore in her work.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
