The founding act of Rapha\u00ebl Imbert\u2019s artistic approach dates back to 1999, with the creation of a nine musicians orchestra, La Compagnie Nine Spirit.\u00a0In 2010, Rapha\u00ebl Imbert joined the Improtech program, in conjunction with IRCAM and EHESS, and travelled to the United States to study the links between traditional folk music, orality and improvisation, new media and the digital revolution. He has worked with musicians such as Archie Shepp, Daniel Humair, Yaron Herman, Anne Paceo, the Manfred Quartet, the Chemirani Trio, Arnaud Thorette and Johan Farjot\u2019s Ensemble Contraste, Johan Farjot, Karol Beffa, Hugh Coltman, Laurent de Wilde, and more. His innovative sound dives, blends and jumpstarts all music genres. Avant-garde jazz, hip-hop, Afro-beat, gospel, electronica, classical and fiery rock are all loops that Kebbi interweaves with passion and edge.\u00a0The Atlanta native received both an undergraduate degree and Master\u2019s in Jazz Studies from prestigious Howard University. At the age of 22, he won the Jazz Instrumental Soloist Category (college division)\u00a0award from Downbeat Magazine. Kebbi launched his professional career as a much in demand studio and touring musician.\u00a0 OutKast, the legendary Donald Byrd, Cee-lo Green, Mos Def, drummer Jeff \u201cTain\u201d Watts, Bilal, Oteil Burbridge, Me\u2019Shell Ndegeocello, Russell Gunn, Julie Dexter and iconic Betty Carter are among the elite musicians and vocalists who jumped off Kebbi\u2019s unique horn. She also created the immersive show\u00a0<em>L\u00e2cher L\u2019homme !<\/em>\u00a0inspired by Frantz Fanon\u2019s essay<em>\u00a0Black Skin White Masks<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, she recently participated in the thought-provoking piece\u00a0<em>Freedom, I\u2019ll have lived your dream until the full last day<\/em>, curated by Felwine Sarr, showcased in New York and North Carolina with the support of Villa Albertine\u2019s Face Theater and FUSED programs. It was at that time that he began collaborating with a wide variety of musicians, but it was as a jazz pianist that he began to make a name for himself. In 2005, he was awarded first prize in the jazz class at the Conservatoire Pierre Barbizet de Marseille.<\/p>\n<p>He has notably collaborated on Marion Rampal&rsquo;s first album (<em>Own Virago<\/em>), after playing alongside saxophonist Rapha\u00ebl Imbert. Collaborations such as these have given him the opportunity to perform at a wide variety of festivals across France and in several other countries, as well as for radio and television (France Musique, Arte Web TV, etc.). She discovered drums at the age of 15 thanks to her love of rock. She played in various bands and at 20 moved to Paris to study jazz at the conservatoire. She graduated summa cum laude in 2018. She is influenced by many different genres, including improvised music, free jazz, punk and experimental music, as well as Flamenco, traditional Basque music, and African percussion.<\/p>\n<p>Still very active on the contemporary jazz scene in France, in 2021 she joined the group Nout with Delphine Joussein and Rafa\u00eblle Rinaudo. In 2023, she played with prestigious orchestras including Eve Risser and Nainy Diabat\u00e9&rsquo;s Red Desert Orchestra and Kogoba Basigui, as well as Mats Gustafsson&rsquo;s Scandinavian Orchestra Fire! Daniel has spent the last several years of his career teaching brass, piano, music theory, and production across the metro Atlanta area. He has taught a wide range of students both in age and skill.
