Synopsis :<\/strong><\/p>\nStar internationale, espionne de la Seconde guerre mondiale ou encore activiste ne sont que quelques-uns des qualitatifs utilis\u00e9s lorsque l\u2019on \u00e9voque Jos\u00e9phine Baker, l\u2019une des plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bres artistes africaines-am\u00e9ricaines de France. Ce documentaire permet de comprendre comment une jeune fille noire issue d\u2019une famille pauvre du Missouri est tout d\u2019abord devenue la \u00ab Reine de Paris \u00bb, avant de rejoindre la R\u00e9sistance et finalement r\u00e9aliser son r\u00eave de b\u00e2tir la \u00ab Famille Arcen-Ciel \u00bb en adoptant douze enfants, provenant des quatre coins du monde.<\/p>\n
En d\u00e9pit de sa c\u00e9l\u00e9brit\u00e9, les trois tourn\u00e9es \u00ab back home \u00bb de Jos\u00e9phine Baker sur le territoire am\u00e9ricain (1936, 1948, 1951) ont \u00e9t\u00e9 marqu\u00e9es par les incidents racistes. C\u2019est pourtant dans la difficult\u00e9 et les trag\u00e9dies qu\u2019elle a su forger ses convictions, jusqu\u2019\u00e0 \u00e9pouser la lutte pour les Droits Civiques et \u00eatre la seule femme \u00e0 prendre la parole en 1963, lors de la Marche vers Washington, sur l\u2019estrade aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de Martin Luther King. D\u00e9s lors et jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la fin de ses jours, elle mit sa c\u00e9l\u00e9brit\u00e9 au service d\u2019une utopie politique d\u00e9passant les fronti\u00e8res.
