L’esprit cr\u00e9atif et le sens du design des Bouroullec ont inspir\u00e9 le titre de l’exposition – une m\u00e9taphore de l’exp\u00e9rience fantastique du cirque et du r\u00f4le de leurs \u0153uvres en tant qu’artistes de ce cirque.Cette exposition pr\u00e9sente des projets – mobilier, \u00e9clairage, textiles, verre, c\u00e9ramique, architecture, syst\u00e8mes de division des pi\u00e8ces – pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s dans un environnement con\u00e7u par les fr\u00e8res et leur studio. Des mod\u00e8les originaux li\u00e9s \u00e0 ces projets sont \u00e9galement expos\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n

Parmi les aspects les plus remarquables de l’approche que les fr\u00e8res Bouroullec ont du design, on peut citer leur attrait pour le monde naturel comme source d’inspiration et leur int\u00e9r\u00eat marqu\u00e9 pour les processus de fabrication et les mat\u00e9riaux. De nombreux objets de cette exposition refl\u00e8tent un entrelacement de techniques artisanales traditionnelles et contemporaines. Ils c\u00e9l\u00e8brent les qualit\u00e9s artisanales de ces cr\u00e9ations et les imperfections inh\u00e9rentes aux processus de production qui deviennent alors source de diversit\u00e9, d’int\u00e9r\u00eat visuel et un moyen d’adoucir les caract\u00e9ristiques parfois m\u00e9caniques de la fabrication en s\u00e9rie.<\/p>\n\n

Respectivement dipl\u00f4m\u00e9s de l\u2019\u00c9cole nationale sup\u00e9rieure des arts d\u00e9coratifs de Paris et de l\u2019\u00e9cole nationale sup\u00e9rieure d\u2019arts de Cergy-Pontoise, Ronan (n\u00e9 en 1971) et Erwan Bouroullec (n\u00e9 en 1976) s\u2019associent en 1999 pour mener un travail au sein d\u2019un dialogue permanent et d\u2019une exigence commune vers plus de justesse et de d\u00e9licatesse.Leur collaboration est un dialogue permanent nourri par leurs personnalit\u00e9s distinctes et une notion de diligence partag\u00e9e visant \u00e0 obtenir davantage d\u2019\u00e9quilibre et de finesse.<\/p>\n\n

Leur travail a couvert de nombreux domaines allant de la conception de petits objets tels que des bijoux \u00e0 l\u2019organisation et \u00e0 l\u2019architecture spatiales, de l\u2019artisanat \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle industrielle, des dessins aux vid\u00e9os et photographies.<\/p>\n\n

Aujourd\u2019hui, leurs cr\u00e9ations appartiennent aux collections d\u2019institutions telles que le Mus\u00e9e national d\u2019art moderne \u2013 Centre Pompidou et le Mus\u00e9e des Arts D\u00e9coratifs \u00e0 Paris, le Museum of Modern Art de New York, l\u2019Art Institute de Chicago, le Design Museum de Londres ou encore le mus\u00e9e Boijmans van Beuningen de Rotterdam.<\/p>\n\n

Le Philadelphia Museum of Art (\u00ab mus\u00e9e des beaux-arts de Philadelphie \u00bb) est le plus grand mus\u00e9e d’art de Philadelphie. Les collections du mus\u00e9e sont tr\u00e8s vari\u00e9es.
