Le dimanche 28 avril, le saxophoniste de jazz fran\u00e7ais Rapha\u00ebl Imbert se produira aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du collectif musical d\u2019Atlanta Reverence, reconnu pour son approche audacieuse des genres, lors d\u2019un concert exceptionnel \u00e0 la Gallery 992, lieu embl\u00e9matique des artistes exp\u00e9rimentaux.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette collaboration artistique a vu le jour en mai 2023 dans le cadre du projet Music is My Field, une exploration in situ men\u00e9e par Rapha\u00ebl Imbert autour des traditions musicales du Sud-Est des \u00c9tats-Unis et des Appalaches. \u00a0En savoir plus sur Music is My Field<\/em><\/a>. <\/em>De retour \u00e0 Atlanta et dans la r\u00e9gion au printemps 2024, l\u2019artiste vient achever le tournage du film issu de cette immersion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

En novembre 2023, Kebbi Williams \u2014 leader du collectif Reverence et saxophoniste t\u00e9nor laur\u00e9at d\u2019un Grammy Award \u2014 a \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9 \u00e0 se produire aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de Rapha\u00ebl Imbert lors du festival JEST \u00e0 Marseille, en France. Reverence et Rapha\u00ebl Imbert se produiront \u00e9galement en juillet 2024 aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de musiciens du Conservatoire Pierre Barbizet de Marseille, dans le cadre du festival Jazz des Cinq Continents, \u00e0 Marseille. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rapha\u00ebl Imbert<\/strong> est un saxophoniste de jazz autodidacte, chef d’orchestre et compositeur. L’un de ses domaines de recherche privil\u00e9gi\u00e9s, qu’il continue \u00e0 approfondir, est le spirituel dans le jazz. L’acte fondateur de la d\u00e9marche artistique de Rapha\u00ebl Imbert remonte \u00e0 1999, avec la cr\u00e9ation d’un orchestre de neuf musiciens, La Compagnie Nine Spirit. En 2010, Rapha\u00ebl Imbert rejoint le programme Improtech, en collaboration avec l’IRCAM et l’EHESS, et se rend aux \u00c9tats-Unis pour \u00e9tudier les liens entre les musiques populaires traditionnelles, l’oralit\u00e9 et l’improvisation, les nouveaux m\u00e9dias et la r\u00e9volution num\u00e9rique. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il a travaill\u00e9 avec des musiciens tels que Archie Shepp, Daniel Humair, Yaron Herman, Anne Paceo, le Manfred Quartet, le Chemirani Trio, l’Ensemble Contraste d’Arnaud Thorette et Johan Farjot, Johan Farjot, Karol Beffa, Hugh Coltman, Laurent de Wilde, etc. La discographie de Rapha\u00ebl Imbert comprend \u00a0\u00bb Newtopia Project : Suite \u00c9l\u00e9giaque \u00ab (2006), \u00bb Bach – Coltrane \u00ab (2008), \u00bb New York Project \u00ab (2009), \u00bb Live au Tracteur \u00ab (2011), \u00bb Heavens – Amadeus & The Duke \u00ab (2013), \u00bb Janus \u00ab (2013), \u00bb The Appalachians \u00a0\u00bb (2014).\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reverence<\/strong> est un collectif aux multiples facettes bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Atlanta (G\u00e9orgie), qui se distingue par la cr\u00e9ation de paysages sonores improvis\u00e9s brouillant les fronti\u00e8res entre les genres \u2014 une esth\u00e9tique singuli\u00e8re qualifi\u00e9e de couture sounds.
